Lead Combat Designer – 2018-2022
- Designed the game’s combat system and combat philosophy
- Designed flexible, custom-made systems that led to faster development, faster iteration, and easier prototyping
- Led a team of animators, engineers, VFX, and SFX artists to create all player actions, which includes combat, traversal, and emotes.
- Designed / Implemented combat interactions, mechanics, etc
- Largely responsible for championing the animation direction that shaped the personality of the game, along with my direct team
- Closely worked with online engineers to design a unique combat system that works well under latency without sacrificing gameplay feel, despite the game’s massive scale
- Other responsibilities include designing the game’s combat accessibility system, combat notification system, control scheme, and so much more.
- Designed the initial inspiration direction for the character creation suite
