Isaac Torres

Lead Designer | Combat & Gameplay Systems | Mentor & Manager

Hello, my name is Isaac Torres. I’m a lead designer with over 10 years of experience working on combat focused games.

Throughout my career, I’ve contributed to a variety of combat and action games, including Divekick, Killer Instinct, Rumbleverse, and the recently released Towerborne.

To say I come from a combat background would be an understatement. I fell in love with fighting games back when the first Samurai Shodown was in arcades. In addition to working on various games in the genre, I’ve also written about fighting games and its community for websites such as Shoryuken.com and did commentary at Evo for both Mortal Kombat 9 and Injustice.

Over the past 8 years, I have been a Lead Combat Designer for two different games at two different studios. I love working with teams to help build experiences that make you smile. It’s extremely important that everyone I’m working with feels that their contributions are valued and that we’re having fun making something special.

I’d like to say that one of my core strengths is being able to consistently deliver features within short timelines while maintaining a healthy and collaborate environment. I have designed, tuned, and helped build major features, such as core combat systems, enemies and bosses, gameplay tools, progression systems, and more.

As a manager, I have hands-on experience with hiring, mentoring, and developing designers all while delivering cohesive, player-focused gameplay experiences that are loved by fans. I wear my passion and excitement for what I do on my sleeve and try to bring that energy to every team I’m on.

Also, I’m Spider-Man.
